In the field of health, the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Cluny continue to serve those in need. Here too, there is great variety and constant creativity, as new needs and opportunities arise.
In addition to the many dispensaries, care centres and hospitals that are run by our Sisters, or in which we work in collaboration with others leaders, our caring activities are carried out in many ways.
Prevention:
- Vaccinations, nutrition programmes, family education, protection of life from the moment of conception, medical camps with free consultations for isolated villagers, etc...
- For development: maternal and child protection centres, family planning using natural methods, official health projects, self-help groups for women, etc.
- For people suffering from leprosy or AIDS, the mentally or physically handicapped, polio victims, war amputees: hospitals, dispensaries, care and rehabilitation centres, etc.
- Maternity wards, pharmacies, laboratories, alternative medicine (traditional herbal medicine), mobile clinics including a clinic on a boat,
- Retirement homes for our elderly sisters in a suitable setting and environment.
