We, the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Cluny, are gathered with grateful hearts to honour Mary, but also, as tradition dictates, to celebrate our Superior General, Sister Clare Stanley.
On this solemn day of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we celebrate her entry, body and soul, into the fullness of God's presence. Mary's life was a song of service, trust and abandonment. Her "yes" opened the way for Christ to come and dwell among us.
Following in Mary's footsteps, Sister Clare said "yes" to God in the service of our Congregation, guided by faith, courage and a deep love for the mission entrusted to us by Blessed Anne-Marie Javouhey.
We thank the Lord for Sister Clare's strong guidance, her listening heart and her unwavering commitment to the unity and vitality of our religious family in the world. On this feast day, we entrust her to the maternal protection of Mary, asking her to fill her with wisdom, joy and renewed strength.
May we, inspired by the example of Mary and the witness of Sister Clare, continue to walk together in hope, always seeking to bring love and hope to our world, which is thirsting for them!
