Let's share love and hope with our world ...

Rooted in Christ and led by the Holy Spirit, the sisters of South India are always striving to discern God's radiant plans through the signs of the times.

A good number of sisters give selfless service throughout the world as well as within the country, according to the needs of the mission.

The excessive interference and demands imposed by the government on our institutions have urged us to venture into new and challenging ministries, in order to reach out to all, especially the poor and marginalised, according to the needs of our time.

Today ...

The Province's bold initiatives have given rise to new ministries, making our service more relevant today. Driven by a deep desire to ignite a flame of hope in the hearts of underprivileged and neglected people, the Province has initiated the following ministries:

  • In order to be more effective in the ministry of healing, the leprosy centre has been transformed into a care and support centre for HIV patients.

  • We provide schooling for over 50 children of HIV/AIDS and leprosy patients. They are housed in various hostels and stay with us during the holidays.

  • To educate and empower rural women with no access to higher education, our community college offers training in computer and laboratory skills along with nursing.

  • Some of our underutilized clinics have been converted into homes for the mentally challenged, rehabilitation centres for addict or homes for young girls from remote villages.

  • We ensure appropriate medical and nursing care for the elderly and bedridden patients.

  • We offer reintegration services for women released from prison.

  • We educate and empower children from the gypsy community.

  • We are actively committed to the inclusion and empowerment of transgender people and "Irulars", who live on the margins of society.

Missionary disciples ... to this call from God, we respond with total availability, ready to leave our country to go where God calls us to serve our brothers and sisters.
